Should I Buy an X-65? - European Snake - 16.05.2010

Well, I'm rather well to do and have a nice chunk of change in my pocket. I could really go out and buy any joystick set I want. I'm thinking about replacing my new (but crappy) X-52 with an X-65. I already have my heart set on Saitek pro pedals and their gaming headset, but I need to know if an X-65 is worth all the hype and the big price tag.

Another thing to keep in mind is that I'm working from a quarter inch thick glass desk, so how it secures to the surface may cause issues.

EDT: If you recommend another stick, it HAS to have force feedback (if its not pressure sensitive), and it has to have dual throttle control and sturdy construction. I'm sick of sticks breaking.

Septuple throttle here. I'd say go for it.

Nah, by a crappy stick, throw it around a bit and fly like that; that's how true-simmers roll 8)

Oh, I got the G-940 cheaper than $250.00 U.S. I think I paid $189.00 with shipping added to that. So the retail price you will find out there isn't always the final word.

Again

Good Luck

Agreed cheapo's allow the abusive side to come out.

A word about force feedback on the G-940, (its the only force feedback I am familiar with) It rattles and shakes before a stall, I had to screw it in to the desk to tame it. You have a glass table? Hmmmm.......
I do not think you are able to drill drywall screws with the home cordless drill it to your table....he he.

If money is no object, wait another month or so and get a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.

For that, I can SOOOOO wait! That's gonna be AWESOME!

No more keyboard for me! I'll probably even have enough buttons for bomsight and view controls!

Price for the HOTAS Warthog has been announced at $300.00 (British Pound)
Release date is still set for this Spring, but with Summer fast approaching, I'd look for it mid to late Summer.
