F-86 - Olivedrab63 - 21.05.2010

Greetings
I have installed HSFX but when I try to fly an F-86 the mission gets to 100% and does nothing and never loads.
After waiting a few minutes I ctrl alt del out because everything was frozen.
Any ideas as to what that problem is?

Thanks

Does the rest of the game work with HSFX???

- Olivedrab63 - 21.05.2010

Yes, the HSFX is installed and works good. It's an impressive change to IL2. I have flown the F4U, P-51 and P-38,
but when I tried the F-86 it was a no-go.

I just checked and the F-84 works. But the F-86s and the Mig jets don't work.
The mission loads to 100% and stops, and when I escape it goes to the quit save track etc option menu, and then to the stats report as if I had flown the mission and had quit. Maybe I need to transfer something on the GME? If so, what?

Ok first move all mods to the left hand side.
Next move the HISTORY mod to the right. An see what happens

Okay, I did that and it still sits at 100% on stand by and goes no further.
I moved everything over to the left and put hsfx history mod back on the right.

Hmm. Wonder what the heck it is?

only next this is to ask -- HOW did you make your install ??

Clean from disk 4.07m--> clean 4.08m---> clean 4.09m---- HSFX 4.0----HSFX---4.1 and so on.

- Olivedrab63 - 21.05.2010

I freshly installed 1946, then I updated it with patches 4.08 and 4.09, then I downloaded and installed HSFX 4.0 and 4.1 . All this went into it's own folder on the C drive outside of program files.

- skyomish - 21.05.2010

Ok At times HSFX may get a mind of its OWN.
Look inside you game folder on the C: drive to insure that it DID NOT write
IL-2 FORGOTTEN BATTLES and install in a new folder. At times it will do this for no reason.

- Olivedrab63 - 21.05.2010

The only place I found anything that said: IL2 FORGOTTEN BATTLES is the application that makes the game start when you click it. That is also in a copy of IL2 1946 that I found in the games file too that I did'nt know was there.

But hey, if this is getting to be too much of a pain I can live without the F-86 if its gonna be such a hassle anyway.

That copy that is in you game folder is the problem. It should not be there.
I would say delete that and reinstall 4.0 and watch how the game path reads for the install- do the same with the 4.1
after that all should be fine.
I would like to see you have the full game. Enjoy
