Ya, im no artist, but in the attachment is my picture idea, just add a blue and greyish black ground.
if you use this basic idea, then thanks
remember, they were made after 5 minutes in paint!!!!
the one with the targetting thing is pic 1
the other one is pic 2, in a reply, tell me which should be the picture.
the board does need your opinion.

Sort of similar to the old aircraft-silhouette-in-the-crosshairs thing from AAA?

hmmm... ya but the different colors need to fit this place, plus, it was a great picture man, maybe we could have a plane going off at another angle, plus, hey, we could change it after a while!
:yinyang: just an idea
Re: The sites picture - TheMech - 09.06.2010
I'm in favor for this idea, if it isn't too much trouble. It would make AAS seem... fancier.
Re: The sites picture - Triad773 - 10.06.2010
Hey guys- I was trading PMs somewhere else with Philip.ed on this very subject. Phoenix theme in this -emerging from the flames or something to that effect.
I offer up these two quick designs. Use them until you get better, if you are happy with either, or not, as you wish.
They are big for resizing to smaller.
Linkee version 1
Linkee version 2
Hope they are of some use to you.
Cheers
Triad

How about this one? It has transparency and can be resized and the font colour can be changed.
I dunno why the prop looks like that...

I like KG64_Cnopicilin's
Keep the whole Messerschmitt thing in the corner
Planemad
Re: The sites picture - Guest - 11.06.2010
Well, I had an idea at SAS for this. At the end of the day, I feel that the banner needs to look professional, so maybe if a picture from Il-2 was used, it'd have to be photoshopped to perfection
I was thinking of a title, with (maybe) Yellow outlined text over a bright blue background. The background would open up possibilities due to similarities over the colour of the sky.
There was a missile called the phoenix, so maybe in the top right-hand corner we could have an off-section of the plane firing it, and then have the missile cutting across the middle of the banner, and underling the word Aircraft.
Or something like that
Re: The sites picture - Jambo - 11.06.2010
Morning Gents,
found this in the German Wikipedia about the Phoenix and somehow I like it:
It's from a picture out of a german book from 1697
(Emblem: A Phoenix rises from the ashes. "Rincasce piu gloriosa" ("It rises again more glorious").
You know many Squadrons had a Latin motto on their Badges...

Jambo that's an excellent idea!
I also like the latin: per ardua ad astra! Which is the RAF motto
Our name is AAS, no bloody good are we
We cannot shot, we cannot fight, nor march like infantry
But when it comes to modding, we mod with all our might!
Per ardua ad astra...
EDIT you Jack, we're alright!

Re: The sites picture -
Deutschmark - 11.06.2010
Hi philip, I hope JAFA dont mind as I put up his AAS banner,
I like it, but if he does not want us to use it I will take it down
And go back to the other.
Deutschmark
Re: The sites picture - Guest - 11.06.2010
He did it for us!
BTW-that's my edited one you put up. Can you stretch it across the page mate?
BTW, my version with the rocket-trail is WIP. i'm hoping some photoshop god could do something similar with JAFA's amazing picture as I attempted to do
Re: The sites picture -

A bit of transparent fading to the edges and it's perfect!
