Questions on Canons BlankFieldPlate - Redwulf__32 - 25.07.2010

Instead of using the stock "BlankPlate" for grass runways, I've considered using Canons BlankFieldPlate which should (as far as I know) cover a much larger area - hence fewer plates needed.

After doing a search  I haven't been able to locate the exact dimensions and the origin point (center? lower left corner?.....) of Canons BlankFieldPlate.

Does anybody have (or know where to find this info)?

Also, secondly, since the plate is invisible - is there a visible version (same dimensions) for use in the FMB?

Reason for asking is I'm working on my Denmark map (WIP 7) and would like to replace the stock blank plates that are used throughout the map with the BlankFieldPlate.

TIA

Better sill Wink Use Zuti's friction mod and assign friction values to defined areas. These have the benefit of no FPS hit as it uses no objects and you can define how bumpy/smooth each of the areas are.

Does the player have to have Zuti's Friction mod installed, or is it purely a mapmaking tool?

Hi Neil,

Yes, it could be done using the Zuti friction mod but this would (afaik) require all players to have the mod activated and would be mission specific (areas defined in the .mis file). This is great for missions requiring fx. temporary pick-up/drop-off fields or mission specific airbases.

However, I'm looking for a permanent solution built into the map itself, there are quite a few grass fields on the map I'd like to include/update, Rye, Avnø, Rom + some of the Swedish ones aswell. Also the basic Luftwaffe airfields in Denmark have a 200m wide landable area on each side of the concrete runway.

Thnx for the suggestion anyway Smile

No probs Red Smile

The areas can also be set in the load.ini for the map. Smile

Yes the player has to have the mod installed. Either by enabling Zuti's MDS mod or by having the standalone version of the Airfield friction mod.
