Canon's map question - NIGHTFIGHTER - 26.08.2010

O.K firstly forgive me folks if this has been covered before, but im a HSFX virgin (only installed it today). Can anyone tell me, i have canons channel map in FMB should it also apper in QMB. I seem to remember when i installed it in 4.09 it was in QMB and FMB....On the plus side when i tried it in 4.09 i couldn't get it to work because i hadn't half of the scenery...but having switched to HSFX, it runs perfect...If some kind soul could tell me i wasn't dreaming and there is a way of doing it id be most thankfull...Gary

Re: Canon's map question - Murph - 26.08.2010

The map(s) do not work in QMB by default. You're going to have to add it to whatever version of QMB+ you are using. You'll also need to have a complete set of quick missions for each of the four maps.
Once you have all that done, it should work fine, mine does.
If you had it working in you old install using QMB+, you should be able to drop a copy of that install of QMB+ from your old install (if you still have it) into the folder called "jsgmemods" in your game directory and enable it using JSGME. Good luck, let us know if it works and provide a detailed account of what you did if it doesn't.

Re: Canon's map question - NIGHTFIGHTER - 27.08.2010

Hi Murph, Thanks for the advice mate. I tried adding QMB+ through JSGME and even followed the install instructions in the QMB read me file, and addied the Canon channel map to the main config file. But no joy, the real strange thing is before changing to HSFX i had in QMB+ a hole load of single missions ie: DIE! (ultra quick missions against enemy Aces) and many others and evevn though im now on HSFX, i click load in QMB and all those missions are still there and play fine... anyway it was worth a try many thanks again for the advice..Gary

Re: Canon's map question - Murph - 29.08.2010

Try doing a search of your game's directory for any folder called "Quick" or "Quicks" and make sure they all have needed missions. Are the maps showing up as an option in QMB? Did you add them to the list in your config.ini?
They should look like this;
Custom55=Channel4041
Custom56=Channel4041W
Custom57=Channel4245
Custom58=Channel4245W
-With the "Custom#" being whatever is appropriate for the number of maps you have- it's also worth checking to make sure that you didn't put in a wrong number or flub up the case. Config.ini entries are case sensitive.

Re: Canon's map question - NIGHTFIGHTER - 31.08.2010

Hi Murph Sorry took so long to get back to you, yes ive got the missions in the quicks folder and have the correct wording in the config file, and yet the maps wont show up in the QMB, really strange this. :roll:

Re: Canon's map question - Murph - 31.08.2010

If the maps are not showing in QMB+, there must be something amiss with the way it's listed in the config.ini, since they should show up in QMB+ even if the missions aren't there- the map would show but the mission wouldn't load.
Do your other additional QMB+ maps work in QMB+?

Re: Canon's map question - NIGHTFIGHTER - 02.09.2010

Hi Murph, i have at the momment flyable maps in QMB
Okinowa
Coral Sea
Pacific Islands
Smolensk
Moscow Winter
Crimea
Kuban
Bessarabia
MTO
Slovakia W
Slovakia S
Please bear in my i upgraded from 4.09 b1m to HSFX and as yet haven't installed any other maps, so i think what we have above is a HSFX virgin install. As for canons map, i even copied the read me file Config lettering and pasted it into the file..But the maps still aren't there.

Re: Canon's map question - Murph - 03.09.2010

And you have some version of Quick Mission Builder Plus (QMB+) installed in either your Mods folder or enabled in JSGME? (Pardon me if I insult your intelligence, I'm just trying to go though everything step by step).

I hope that is a typo where you say installed HSFX over 4.09b1m ?????

Re: Canon's map question - NIGHTFIGHTER - 05.09.2010

Dont worry Murph, With a surname like mine (Pratt) you would find it hard to insault me, and yes you are completley right, i haven't got QMB+ installed why the hell didn't i notice that? I completely didn't notice that when i went into QMB that it was the bog standard version and not QMB+ oh well your know what they say Pratt by name and Pratt by nature....Ill just have to hunt down an install of QMB+....thanks mate i think thats the problem.

Skyomish, i like your way of thinking. :lol:

Thanks Ton414, just installed QMB+ and yes the maps now show up in QMB+ but ive now got the dreaded "Wrong target selected" message. I think ill take out QMB+ and give the Pro version a try ( but that will have to wait till later as ive got to go to work now :roll: )Thanks for the link mate.
