The US navy had the same problem.

The short answer is to start with lots of right rudder trim, but seriously, getting a F4U off the deck with any sort of load was always 'interesting'. You might like to take a look at Zeus-cat's 'Straight From the Farm' missions over at M4T: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=2147 - as good a guide to getting competent at basic IL-2 aircraft handling as you'll ever see, and with a good introduction to carrier ops too.

As a general rule for the F4U....

First release the chocks and then reapply them. This will get you on the deck instead of hovering above it before take off.

9 clicks of right rudder trim.
2 clicks of up elevator trim.
1 click of left aileron trim.
Mix to 120%
Power to 110%

Release chocks.
When you pass the conning tower, drop half flaps (take off).
When you lift off the bow, drop full flaps and raise gear (FAST).
When the gear comes up, start to raise flaps back to 1/4 (1 Notch).

As speed comes up to 130kts, raise the flaps and level the nose.

That should help you.

Without it, it is really hard to get off a CVE, it can be done, but it is a thrill!

Just let the plane fall from the deck, you pull up too fast and stall. Just keep an inch over the water until you have enough speed to start climbing.

Speaking of F4U's. I notice the AI has problems taking off with them from a stationary carrier. Any recommendations for loads in the Mission Builder to fix that?

After the mod is activated.....
From the carrier deck, release the chocks.
Taxi forward to the catapult.
Re-engage the chocks. (This will lock you into the cat)
Set Flaps, elevator trim, and power up to full mil.
Release the chocks and your plane will shoot forward from the cat.
