[VIDEO] Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne - Fireskull - 11.09.2010

Both Black Sabbath band and Ozzy Osbourne solo tours had amazing live concert quality. The effects, sound, and venue were tops.

Black Sabbath made many great songs before Ozzy Osbourne was fired in 1979 for his drinking problem and Randy Rhoads died in 1982. Some of the popular songs that Ozzy still plays in concert were written while he was originally with Black Sabbath. Both Ozzy and Black Sabbath took different artistic courses after Osbourne left the group. Much of this was also because of the choice of new lead guitarist Randy Rhoads for Osbourne's new band. Some consider Randy Rhoads as one of the best guitarists of all time, but no doubt he made a major influence on the rock scene, and so did his death. Ozzy continued the hard driving success to this day - one of rock's super stars.

Ronnie James Dio was lead singer of Black Sabbath after Ozzy left. Tony Martin eventually replaced him.

Black Sabbath continued off and on without Ozzy Osbourne for a number of years, but old friends tend to reunite. Both the choice and the death of Randy Rhoads would put a seal on the separation and eventual reuniting of Black Sabbath, an amazing irony.

In the summer of 1997, Black Sabbath members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Ozzy Osbourne reunited with Ozzy's solo band to begin the ongoing Ozzfest, held for most of the ten following years.

Falling off the Edge of the World - Black Sabbath with Dio (Recording from "Mob Rules", 1981)

In many ways, "Mod Rules" album by Black Sabbath would explore rock largely without the direct influence of the departed Ozzy Osbourne. They almost seem deliberate in avoiding such influence in following years for songwriting.

Ozzy Osbourne, on the other hand, was deeply influenced by past Black Sabbath sounds and the desire to discover new sounds, which he blended with the help of Randy Rhoads.

The death of Rhoads in 1982 was symbolic of industry wide changes. Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, and Hard Rock entered into a new sound after this. The end of an era in style in the Rock World was forced upon all previous Black Sabbath members with the leaving of Osbourne from Black Sabbath and the death of Randy Rhoads. The passing of Randy Rhoads tore Ozzy from a hard course to discover more freedom in his musical journey. His songwriting of following years reveals this.

Artists and fans mourned and then refocused on Rock with a fresh revolution in the genre. Ozzy Osbourne was one of those who sensed the change and helped take rock to new sensations.

Iron Man - Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne (Ozzfest 2009) - The band still sounded great. Ronnie James Dio had stomach cancer and was not on stage. One member playing in this concert, guitarist Tony Iommi, was having a legal dispute over the rights to the name of Black Sabbath. With the weight of these things on their backs, Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne poured out the Rock in Ozzfest, friends until the end.

In 2010, guitarist Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne settled their dispute over the rights to the name of Black Sabbath in a private, confidential agreement. Ronnie James Dio died of Stomach cancer in May, 2010.

Re: [VIDEO] Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne - Deutschmark - 27.09.2010

Well here is my Ozzy story,
Back in the 80s when I was playing music our manager was in with all
The big promoters at the time, when Ozzy with his own band not Black Sabbath
Came to Boston, our manager not only got us back stage but also into the bands
Party room where all the food a drink was back stage, so there we where partying
And talking with Ozzy and his band, it came time for them to get ready for the show
They left the party room to go to their dressing rooms, a few minutes later Ozzy comes
Back into the party room saying I forgot my tassels at the hotel, he then looked at me
And said, you, and through me something it was his hotel key, he then looked at his
Limo driver and said take him to the hotel, he then told me, as soon as you go into
The room there is a door to your right its in there and it’s the only thing with long
White tassels, I then was in Ozzy’s Limo with his driver on the way to the hotel
We went into the hotel the driver went to the front desk and the next I know I was
In Ozzy’s hotel room, opened the door and there it was that blue/ purple outfit with
The long white tassels that I had seen Ozzy wear before in Black Sabbath, we went
Out on to the sidewalk in front of the hotel and I posed and there I was on Tremont
Street in Boston with Ozzy’s well known outfit in my hands, we got back to the
Boston Gardens and I handed Ozzy his outfit and hotel key back and he thanked
Me with a smile, I will remember this as it was one of my high lights wile I was
Playing music.

Í got master of Reality way back in 1973. With my beutifull Philips C-cassetteplayer. You know. That "small" portable with leather carrying back.
I did use it when i bought my first coomadore 64. It was like hdd at the times.
http://www.google.fi/imgres?imgurl=http ... s%3Disch:1
I still listen Master of Reality quite often
EDIT: I just went out and at our carage. Philips is still there. And it even works. They don't make things like that anymore. And music like Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin. For me Metallica sounded like Master Of Reality. ( some riffs)
@Deutchmark: What instrument did you play. I have played Guitar my self. Blues, Old 50's Billy and Country. Just for hobby.

Funny thing is that my mom called him a freak and my dad labelled him a druggie, but I still cranked his music as high as I could get away with!

That was in the 1970s.

He's as much a victim as Ozzy is... or Keith Richards... But before I'm leaving this planet, I gotta take the chance of seeing one of the "Dinosaurs of Rock",
especially when they're performing only 10 km away...!!! 8) Big Grin

And, BTW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17ifOKRXml4 I'm looking forward to it... (though I know, he's been "tamed" since '71...)
