[IMGS] German non-suicidal Kamikaze - RadPig94 - 02.10.2010
in WWII, the Germans had a type of kamikaze, they took old planes and went up with little ammo and fuel and tried to take out bombers with the plane itself using the Prop and wings as a cutting tool and after impact they would bail and return home to fight another day instead of loading themselves with explosives and killing themselves like the Japanese did, kinda looks like this, usually they'd aim for the tail

ah yes, the sommer kommando elbe, i dont think it was too bright to give them only a handful of rounds. However, it could have been much much more effective had they emplamented it earlier in the war.
i digress, nice film roll sir.

Sonderkommando Elbe. Sonder, not sommer. Sonder means something like special.

Sonderkommandos were prinsoners who helped in the killing process on "death camps" during The Holocaust.

Not Only that. Sonderkommando is a normal german word, and is still in use today.
Btw. We Didnt Used BF-109E's for this task. They where obsolete by then.

The first and only flight of 180 Bf 109's attacked B-24's on April 7, 1945. Of the 180 just under 25 planes rammed their targeted aircraft. Others were shotdown or reported mechanical problems. One pilot said, the 109's were stripped of armour and had one gun with 60 rounds.
......was on on History channels "dogfights."
