4.08m and 4.09m - HatersGonHate. - 09.10.2010

They refuse to install correctly on my computer. I looked up what i might be doing wrong on sas1946, which said that installing it to the Ubisoft folder might be preventing it from accepting the patch. So i made a new folder, still to no success. Please help me, i have thoroughly searched every file and document in every il-2 folder i have to see if im missing anything, im not to my knowledge. I even downloaded the 4.08m patch from 4 different sources, including Ubisoft themselves. Nothing works! I am desperate!

I followed those instructions religiously, no v4.08m was had.

I created a new folder on my C drive which i labeled "Games"

Copied il-2 1946 to that folder

When the Patch installer came up i directed it to my new il-2 folder (i have DVD)

It installs, i run game, no patch.

Reboot, re-install a hundred times...still no patch.

When you reinstall make sure that the IL-2 game folder has NOTHING
left behind. CLEAN .
Make your install outside of PROGRAMS.
C:\Ubisoft\Strumovik1946. MAke sure game runs and works like it should.

Next install 4.08m patch. Check game to insure it works.

What is your operating system ?? Win XP - Vista- Win 7??

Windows 7.

I made a file outside programs already though.

However, when i copied the il-2 from my Ubisoft folder, i found two versions of it in two different folders?

One folder was labeled Ubi Soft the other one was Ubisoft

In one il-2 has jgsmemods and hsfx files and folders, and in the other il-2 had 4.08 readmes and such?

What is going on? i didnt make another ubisoft folder.

Welcome to mods.
For some reason that happens now and then.
THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM. There should only be one folder.
I would say delete what you have and this time MAKE SURE one step at a time that it installs correctly. ONLY ONE FOLDER.
Start with a CLEAN 4.07m install-
Next the 4.08m - run game
Next 4.09m - run game
Then add HSFX if that is where your headed.

I have done this, then i unzipped the 4.08m from the mod link you posted into this clean and unmolested folder. Yay!?
No.
Still doesnt work.

You dont unzip the 4.08m patch into the game folder.
Unzip the 4.08m patch in a temp folder and run it from there.
Double click on the 4.08m patch to start it.

run it from there? i double click it and it says that i do not have the software capable of opening it. its a .dll.

I have installed it multiple times tho, why isnt this working?

By what you are saying I would have to say you have bad downloads.
Thats a guess.
Try these down loads and see if they work better.
Both 4.08m and 4.09m are listed on this page.
