Need help to identidy '122_Chief' - LeBigTed - 15.10.2010

Hi mates,

I'm working on a DDAY mission, with a lot of new things such as new landing crafts I downloaded at SAS.
But, I'm a little newbie in mission editing, so I forget to give a Wapoint to some of my objects...

I have the following message :

Chief'122_Chief' contains only one waypoint.

I can't identify this object, and it would help me if womeone knew which objcet it is...

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Ted

That can be ANY of the objects that you did not give a WAY POINT.

Good luck in finding it. I have done that also and it took hours to find that
one object.

Re: Need help to identidy '122_Chief' - archer - 15.10.2010

It means a vehicle or a ship that is placed, but has no further waypoints to go to, this causes an error.
If you can't find the ship, or vehicle by searching the map for a vehicle or ship with only 1 point, you should go into you il2 folder/ missions and shearch in the mission file itself with a text programm.

it should be something like this:

[Chiefs]
0_Chief Ships.USSIntrepidCV11 1 0 2 1.0
1_Chief Ships.USSLexingtonCV2 1 0 2 1.0
2_Chief Ships.USSBBGeneric 1 0 2 1.0
[0_Chief_Road]
102770.66 294365.63 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
107115.37 292138.19 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
114911.70 288784.63 120.00
[1_Chief_Road]
103672.51 294244.75 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
107263.52 292351.84 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
111849.82 290482.69 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
117132.01 288969.44 120.00
[2_Chief_Road]
104279.42 293461.78 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
106970.31 291870.19 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
113394.85 288558.19 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
114945.95 287434.06 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
116536.15 287147.53 120.00 0 2 7.330833911895752
118217.98 288634.19 120.00

But in your .mis file it probably has someting like this:

[Chiefs]
0_Chief Ships.USSIntrepidCV11 1 0 2 1.0
1_Chief Ships.USSLexingtonCV2 1 0 2 1.0
2_Chief Ships.USSBBGeneric 1 0 2 1.0

4_Chief Ships.IJNAkizukiDD42 2 242 2 1.0
[0_Chief_Road]

107115.37 292138.19 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889

118249.89 288202.75 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
[4_Chief_Road]
117998.90 288087.84 120.00 0 2 11.11111111111111
117238.65 288861.47 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889

111684.88 290366.06 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
107239.05 292236.75 120.00

You should delete [3_Chief_Road]
118249.89 288202.75 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
and:
3_Chief Ships.IJNNowakiDD43 2 181 2 1.0

and save. If you go back to the FMB it should be allright, except if you have done it more than once of course

You can find the flaw easely because there should be more than 1 Coordinate below every chief.

[EDIT] oh I think you can just scroll down to 122_chief, that one will have only 1 coordinate. you should delete everything related to that chief.

chief 122 is just the called chief 122 because it is the 122th vehicle or ship you placed.

Re: Need help to identidy '122_Chief' - LeBigTed - 15.10.2010

Thanks for your explication Archer, but, I read in my Mission file, and I've only 121 Chiefs, not 122 !!! Confusedhock: Confusedhock: Confusedhock:

0_Chief Ships.USSIntrepidCV11 1 0 2 1.0
1_Chief Ships.USSLexingtonCV2 1 0 2 1.0
2_Chief Ships.USSBBGeneric 1 0 2 1.0
...
120_Chief Ships.USSBBGeneric 1 0 2 1.0
121_Chief Ships.USSBBGeneric 1 0 2 1.0

Is it normal ? I checked if one chief doesn't have more than one lign, but they have in fact all 2 or 3 lines such as :

[0_Chief_Road]
102770.66 294365.63 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
107115.37 292138.19 120.00 0 2 13.88888888888889
114911.70 288784.63 120.00

Thanks for our help ;o)

hmmmmmm :| that's quite strange :-?
Well.. I don't understand how it could give an error.

Re: Need help to identidy '122_Chief' - LeBigTed - 16.10.2010

I also got the error today, I placed 3 ships and the last one I placed with just 1 waypoint, I thought it said 3_chief.
So it could be the last one you added. Hopefully you worked from left to right or something  if you placed them randomly it is more difficult to find the flaw.
