[Scale] Fw 190 F8 Eduards - LeBigTed - 18.10.2010
Hi gents,
Here are some pics from my FW190 F8 (I didn't finished yet, sorry for mad quality of photographies). SCALE 1/48 ;o)
I hope you will like it ;o)
This FW190 crash landed, so that I wanted to represent it crashed...
If you have good eyes, you will see on tail impacts that I did to explain the crash... The work is not finished yet, I need to work on a base, if you have any suggestion or any idea, you are welcom ;o)
I will edit this post later with explanations about this plane...
Cheers
Ted

Other pics, with a better cam ;o)
FW190 F-8, "Yellow 2", 9./SG77, Chudim, Czechoslovakia, May 45 :
It was abandonned at Chudim after an emergency landing, and lacked the yellow cowling stripe identifier for Jabo aircraft at the end of the war. Not all that common was also the missing spiral from the spinner. The standard camouflage scheme was composed of RLM 74/75/76 and was darkened with the application of RLM 66 or 02. The 'Yellow 2' was repeated on the fin, but in a smaller size. Rails for Panzerblitz 1 late were mounted under each wing (just added on my model, so it will be seen on next pictures;o)

I have an idea, but honestly I don't know if it is suitable. You judge this...
You could cover a bottom panel with something like very thin sand (but the less scratching the better), reaching just a few millimeters depth. Then you should actually "drag" your model on the sand, acting like the real thing did when it came to a stop. This, better than anything, would reproduce the "print" left in the ground by the belly-landing plane. Then you would remove the model and "fix" the sand in that position (multiple layers of spray glue, maybe?). Once the "earth" has gotten solid, you can make the ground the way you like (grass or snow?). Then you only have to put the model back into its "print" and add some debris on the nose, wing leading edges, and scattered just ahead.
Oh, and if you do this, remember that the belly landing plane is more likely to have somehow "side-swept", rather than sliding perfectly straight. I'm sure you can find dozens of photos about real crash-landings to get an idea.
I hope this can help you. Do you think it is doable?
