Adding things to the HSFX mod - Bo_Nidle - 18.11.2010

Just returning to IL2 after a good few months and a new PC. A "noob" questions:

Is it possible to add our own sounds into the HSFX mod like you used to able to do with the original mods? I want to replace the .50, .30 and a couple of engines sounds. I have the sound files saved from the old mod ready to go but do not see where they could go.

Thanks

Yes, you can do it, you using the MODS folder:
For example:
C:\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 HSFX\MODS\STD\
And you add into the STD folder, the present folder and the Samples folder.

Another method, with the jsgmemods folder, you adding into this folder, another folder with the name that you want, but it should have this structure, for example:
C:\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 HSFX\jsgmemods\My sounds\Files\
And into the Files folder should be the same two folders: present and Samples.

Thanks for the reply. I think I understand. I'll give it a go over the next few days.

Thanks again

You can also add them via the JSGME so as not to corrupt your original HSFX files.
I have detailed instructions on how to do this in another article.
