Switching beetween singles and pairs :0 - XLO-JOKER - 04.01.2011

Hi guys, hope you can help.I dont know how I did it, but I've went from being able to drop one bomb at a time (single) with the push of a button, to one push of the button and both come off the rails together(pairs). I cant find anything about switching from singles to pairs. Thanks in advance for any replies.

You're talking about the "Weapon Control Mod" by ZloyPetrushkO.

Thanks for the reply Mike, but I didn't recall ever downloading that mod, so I checked my "downloaded mods" folder. I've never had that one. I was never able to "choose" singles or pairs, my bombs just always dropped as singles up until now. Any other ideas? I am running UP 2.1.

you must be using a ju88 torpedo plane, you must have picked the non-salvo pair of torpedos

By default the salvo behaviour is different for each plane since it's encoded in the A/Cs classfile.
For instance the P-26 which we just raised to 4.10m compatibility had some serious ordnance issues (which even made their way into the big mod packs like HSFX and UP). During 4.10m upgrade I changed the plane's classfile in order to let it drop 2 out of 4 bombs each time you press the trigger. I could as well have left it at the "all at once" behaviour which it had previously, or one bomb each, or first one, then two, then the last - just as I liked.

If your IL-2 installation always dropped single bombs only, regardless which A/C you choose, then you must have had the Weapon Control Mod or some other mod with the same purpose installed.

btw thanks for the link to that mod, so i'll be able to drop one at a time now? will i be able to pick what bomb drops first if i have different bombs loaded?

I was dropping 1000 pounders from the F-86 25L and Fab 250's (I think) from the La-7.The "maybe another mod is doing it" idea sounds good to me. I'm going to start activating mods 1 at a time and see what happens. Thanks again Mike! Smile

No. This is up to the A/Cs class for sure.
What the Weapon Control Mod does is to let you drop bombs at a time, but the order of the bombs is the one set in the A/C class, there's no chance to modify this from another class outside of the A/C.
Unfortunately that's one of the common mistakes modders make: They count the number of bombs, rockets or whatever ordnance else they applied to the A/C in "readers" direction from outer left wing to inner left wing followed by inner right wing to outer right wing.
An A/C from aft view will drop bombs hence in this order (assumed there are 4 bombs under each wing):
Code:
1  2  3  4         5  6  7  8
Whereas of course the better drop order would be:
Code:
1  3  5  7         8  6  4  2
Or even much better:
Code:
1  2  3  4         4  3  2  1
Or any similar kind. Unfortunately, as stated above, this requires the A/C class itself to be fine tuned.
