BF-109K JV44 "Papagei Staffel" skin - Serpiko - 08.01.2011




"Semi-historical" skin of a hypothetic BF-109 assigned to the famous "Papagei Staffel" of JV44 (based on Jesters-Ink's template)

As far as I know, the "Papagei Staffel" only flew FW-190 Doras in real life, but the paintscheme is awesome on the 109, too!

The file includes 4 skins: an unmarked one and a fictional "Red 8", both available with and without swastikas. (Political markings are present for historical accuracy only, I do not support the nazi party, and blah blah blah, the usual stuff...)

These skins are optimized for the BF109K series, but they should also fit later G series pretty well.

Prop fighters of JV44 were tasked to patrol over the base and protect the Me-262s during takeoff and landing. They were painted red and white under their bellies to allow for easy identification by friendly AAA gunners.

that makes alot of sense, i thought were just ordinary fighters

Great skin... hock:

All the planes of that specific unit have red bottom color... to avoid being shot by land gunners at late war.

Circling around airfields in 44/45, with bunch of AA guners - expecting strife by Mustangs and Thunderbolds... was a risky job with 50% chance to be blasted by friendly fire.
