Il2 Timeout - Kohler - 19.01.2011

Okay. So my problem is like this.
I create an server and my pal tries to join in, he gets an timeout.
Then my pal creates an server and i join there.. i can join.
Ok.. then i again create an server.. then my pal is able to join.

So by this i can have only 1 player on the server.
So I can create the server, only 1 of my pals can join in as others
timeout.

What to do?

also helps if you have the exact same mods enabled, and you are using LAN correct?

Your router/modem is not configured properly to host.

This site has them for almost any game/program/router
http://portforward.com/

Select your router model and then select the game, skip the ad and follow the guide to get it done.

It also may be the case that when your are starting your server for the first time, that your computer is starting the game for the first time that day so it loads slower and causes the timeout. This happens to a squadmate. when he hosts the first time, everyone joining gets a timeout, but if they hit rejoin, they usually get in. After that, there are no more problems. What is happening is that IL2 needs to store info in the RAM the first time so it takes longer because of all the mods that it has to load. Once you have started the game the first time, you now have the info stored in your RAM so it starts quicker reducing the timeouts.

We have found that if you start the game first from your desktop, let it load up, then quit the game, THEN host on HL, you have fewer timeouts.
