All Aircraft Simulations membership climbs - Fireskull - 29.01.2011

Good day,

In the last couple days or so, the membership here has spiked. It has been steadily climbing since we opened on 8 June, 2010.

I look at other IL-2 websites and see similar increase.

Is interest in IL-2 actually excellerating or is this just wishful thinking?

First of it is GREAT news that our member count is climbing :Smile)

But I can't answer the question. I think people have brought the game, or got it for Christmas and played it and thought, I wonder if there are any Mods for Il-2 and Google it and found our site and looked around registered and downloaded mods that the like the look of.

Well, yeah, Planemad, I forgot about Christmas gifts, but membership has been steady increasing since we opened. We are talking about thousand new members in the last 8 months or so. We got a hundred or more new ones just in the last two weeks.

Maybe the mere presence of the word "simulation" rather than "arcade" in the name of the forum makes it appear in more Google searches made by flight sim fans.

Whatever the reason, thiz iz good! Big Grin

Not so long ago there was also a large increase in spammers on alot of forums, even small ones with a few 100 members, Probably these are legit, IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs Of dover probably made some flight sim fans become interested in what CoD would be like so they play the other game in the "Series"

Re: All Aircraft Simulations membership climbs - Odinone - 29.01.2011

Yes! This news state the fact Il2 1946 UP2.0/2,1, HFSX are the ultimate WWII flight sim to fly.
CoD are close to be released and BoB are once againe to be the dogfighting era to start your
flying career with..He.. He...
Il2 1946 will actually give you more of the same experiance, historical squadron skinns, events,
campaines , maps, loadouts, sounds, and AC to fly both RAF and Luftwaffe.
IL2 1946..are flying WWII, ETO, MTO, PTO maps and events close to the history books.
CoD neead at least 3 to 5 years to end up close or near to compete Il21946.
IL2 1946 are released to modder's and CoD nead to be to, if ever to be close to its predecesor IL2-1946.
Yes I will buy and try out CoD but Il2 1946 will probably be my flying Vreality history and event book for many years to come.
Thank you all modders making Il2 1946 á living historty book.

Hello Gents,

I am one of those new guys.

Serpiko's post pretty well sums up the reason I've ventured to IL-2 Sturmovik 1946.

With many new developments going to consoles and such, a good combat flight sim is hard to find these days.
Especially one with a future. Yes, IL-2 has been around for awhile...but a person could put together so many combination's of the WW II theaters of air combat, ground attacks, anti shipping...the list is huge.

Personally I fly offline. With all of the mods available I'm like a little kid in a candy store. 8)
I know these enhancements will keep me flying and grinning for the next several years.

Well, thats my 2¢

Joe, welcome to All Aircraft Simulations! Big Grin ( If I haven't welcomed you yet. )

Your 2 pennies are solid gold to me. Smile I agree 100%

One of my topics here went over the 73,000 view mark and it is not really that old:
IL-2 Guide for Computers, Benchmarking, Optimizing, Tweaking

We have a huge base of knowledge in our threads for the person looking for answers. Smile

People using search engines catch them every day as you guys mentioned. Big Grin
