so my friend has a 2 year old Dell Inspiron 1526, the darn thing starts and just stops loading up at a certain point, before today she says the T,V, and H buttons wouldn't work, any suggestions?

If you have an extra laying around, try plugging in a different keyboard. Also, try booting in "safe" mode, Good luck.

i had already told her to use safe mode before, it had worked after quite some time. i told her to download CCleaner and Advanced Systemcare after that

Re: Computer wont boot - DaveOD06 - 17.02.2011

could be a bad hard drive or bad RAM possibly. run a hard drive diagnostic test from the start up menu if possible (F2 or F12 during the BIOS loading screen I think)

Hi, RadPig

The laptop which I am using to type this at this moment has the same problem.

I use system over ride: Push ctrl then alt and last delete repeatedly until you reach the dialogue (next) screen and then stop doing it.

It works for me so it might work for your friend.
