Trains Too Tough - nodlew - 17.03.2011

I'm using the AEP Effects Revolution mod with UP and I love the realistic weapon effects. However, the mod has apparently incorporated a "Tougher Trains" mod, perhaps the same one that comes as an option with Ultra Pack. I agree with the impulse to strive for realism, but I think these modifications of the trains' durability go unrealistically far. I have tested multiple times and I literally shoot myself out of .50 cal ammo in a P-47 without destroying a single train car. Is there a mod that is more conservative in tweaking the toughness of the trains? If not, could someone point me to the info I will need to make my own adjustments to the relevant files?

Thanks.

In a related question, how does one open files in the .0 (File) format? Is there software, or is it necessary to convert the files to something else? If so, what?

Edit--some days later: Guess I'll have to figure it out myself. Not a particularly active forum, is it? Oh, well, old game, COD is coming out. What did I expect?
