This has been done before and was disregarded as nothing but an animation illusion, this is probably no exception.

I don't think it is an animation illusion, this guy (Zloy PetrushkO) has made many mods for il2 like atmosphere mod, wind mod, semi real rockets, and
others as i remember from former AAA, i don't know if he is still active here but in SAS he works on "Clouds movement in Il-2 in real time"
