3D gunners - AdamB - 15.04.2011

i was wondering if anyone has found anything in the conf.ini that will allow them to put 3D gunners into the game on e.g. artillery like in IL-2 1946.

I have seen somthing that looks familiar but i dare not touch it incase i screw things up real bad Sad

Re: 3D gunners - Deutschmark - 15.04.2011

Make a copy if you screw things up then put back
The copy you made before you screw things up, easy

Re: 3D gunners - Fireskull - 16.04.2011

Hello,

A good possibility, seems to me, is that Cliffs of Dover will take the same course as IL-2 1946 with the 3D gunners. At first you will see some empty vehicles and guns. As hardware technology slowly gains on the demands of CoD over the next several years, then we will see 1C put characters - maybe with animations - onto guns and such.

Intel has been boasting that their chips in the next few years will be able to process much more data for a similar level of price as today.

There are rumours on the InterNet of a monster graphics card to be released by AMD in about 1to 2 years. NVIDIA has been buttering their fans to the idea of big advances once the next generation of Intel chips are available in large numbers.

People including myself are sceptical of claims from companies, especially after the many claims by 1C which have yet to be fulfilled. Despite this opinion, I wish them well and it will be interesting to see how it all evolves.

My prediction is that we will see many games and simulations with animated or even user operated crews - much more common than in the past. I feel that it will be veeeeeery fun! Big Grin

Newt,

I have seen some things with no crew. Remember the flak gun in the video recently that didn't show any crew?

AdamB must need to activate humans.

The images look very nice, by the way. Smile

Re: 3D gunners - Newt - 16.04.2011

thx Fireskull,....there is a 2nd conf.ini. located in My documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover.
Every time you change your game/graphics, ectr.. settings it will be saved in there, now to be on the save side
I changed in both conf.ini files the 'humanspawn =1'

Important!! like Deutschmark said, copy the files first b4 changing!

hey AdamB ,
...to be honost m8 I got no noticable fps impact and the new 2nd beta patch
is doing wonders with the game, core optimising is working.
