Things that i found that should to be fixed - supercrapnstuff - 14.05.2011

Hello, i thought i'd post here on things that should be fixed when ever the next hsfx update comes out
ill start with some aircraft glitches,

the Stinson L5 if going above 400 km or so starts to spaz out and jitter in a totally unrealistic fashion, it's obnoxious when i do a dive from a high altitude to hit an enemy with my rockets and pull out fast, also the left rocket is set to the machinegun (i don't know which one because i only have weapons 1+2 key, i don't use 1 and 2 as seperate keys) and the right rocket is set to the rocket button...its...odd to say the least

the P26 has a glitched ammo counter that doesn't move, is it supposed to?

Most planes that have wings above the fuselage (like the Stinson L5 or Fi-153) will wound the player when the fuel tank is on fire, even though that the fire is on the wing...its not cool...it even happens with a few bi-planes

also what happens with most biplanes (not I-153s) is that if they touch the ground at a speed that wouldn't snap, the fuselage would catch on fire without saying anything then usually blow up like it was a fuel tank on fire, its unexpected, and this mostly happens with the tiger moth, only the bottom set of wings break off, if the top set hits the ground, it gets damage and the fuselage catches fire, its really weird

this is more of a game glitch but while writing this post, i had to refer to the game so i had it in a open window, when i re open it it has the loading screen for hsfx and if i hit Escape, it goes away, this is pretty annoying because sometimes i click on a window right after opening il2 (cuz it takes a few seconds for the game start) and it won't let me skip the opening battle or anything else so i minimize and pull it back up and the menu's get stuck in a eye straining black and white untill i restart il2, its really getting on my nerves

i do know the models of the A6M planes have been changed, but would re-working the skins for those planes be possible? because i find my A6M2-N skins to be really cool, but utterly ruined...

here's some things i would reccomend

some variants of planes added in, like the Ar-234 C (the four engine one) and the Go-229 N-1 both found on the SAS website, ruleing out mistakes made by unskilled mod adders (i replaced the wrong buttons file for god sakes, and i don't even know how to actually get a plane to work!)

another thing i'd reccomend is a seperate key binding for the "dump fuel" command on jets, Fireskull explained to me what it did, but he never said why its actually the power 50 key...

one really annoying thing is the lack of break ups when going to fast, or pulling high G's, I remember screwing around with the speed limits in 4.07 but i have never got it to happen again...but i've been told recently that if you pull high G's, you weaken then break the aircraft, well i don't know about that, i've gotten the Fi-153 to stay above like 5.5 G's for about 7 seconds, that would totally snap the plane

one thing i'd like in the game would be a heavy bomber like the B-29, just loaded with HVAR's or Tiny Tims for the hell of it, i mean, is there any way to do that?
a
oh another glitch that some may know, i was using the no cockpit view in B-17 and i switched to the bombsight and found that it never brings the bombsight up, just points the no cockpit camera down, and glitches it so i can never get a cockpit view or bombsight

Thanks

you turn off the intro in the IL2setup.exe.
Driver Tab> bottom left, uncheck "Intro"

B-29 didn't have HVARs or tiny tims, (why would you put it on something huge when small fighters can carry them?) and it's gonna stay that way unless you can do it.

Fi-153 wasn't even meant for Humans to play

some planes might not work right, some might need a cockpit downloaded and FW-190 Mistel doesn't work right.

not every plane break up the same way, and yes they all do, you have to be going fast (say a dive) and pull hard to bust wings

yes...but...S#!T comes undone after a certain point, and if you had to pull hard, that would be the G-forces breaking the plane, not the actual welds and whatnot faililng

and with the Fi-153, i know its not MENT to be played, i was using it as an example, i can pull high G's, i have noticed a slight weaking with some planes like the 153, my wing got shot off in one hit after a long time of high G's but the b29 thing would just be a joke or somthing, like...wouldn't it just be kinda funny? plus i would love to have things like AB bombs and bat bombs on my B29...and wtf is a bat bomb? i read its a bunch of bats dropped out of a plane with incindeary weapons on them and they nest around the villages of japan (were they dropped them) and burst into flames burning the whole village...but thats not what happens in IL2, but the other things i mentioned...maybe they should be look into

Bat bombs were bomb-shaped casings with numerous compartments, each containing a Mexican Free-tailed Bat with a small timed incendiary bomb attached. Dropped from a bomber at dawn, the casings would deploy a parachute in mid-flight and open to release the bats which would then roost in eaves and attics. The incendiaries would start fires in inaccessible places in the largely wood and paper construction of the Japanese cities that were the weapon's intended target.
