Problem w/ saving preferences - Dr. Strangelove - 08.11.2011
Hey there
Now I see that each time I start the game it is always in snap view, instead of pan.
I have the snap/pan button set to 'backspace'
There is also a similar issue with the mirror view key - by default cockpit mirrors are turned off. This is annoying to have to switch on each time I start the game. Is there anything I can do to get IL-2 to save my settings?
Thanks

Hi there Dr. Strangelove,
did you read this wonderful thread from Jinxx:
De-Mystifying the Conf.ini
You may should. 8)
You'll find this entry under - [Game] viewSet = 35 View snap (even number) / Pan View (odd number)
and a lot more...
Anyway if you done this already - where did you installed your IL-2?
Which "Operating System" do you have?
Is your conf.ini maybe "read-only"?

Hello,
Thank you very much for the help!
I worked with conf.ini and made it not read-only.
Windows 7 was not to blame here (I have put IL-2 somewhere away from program files)
However, do you know if there are any mods that would change the speed bar? Mine is always resetting to metric units.
Thanks again!

Hi Dr. Strangelove,
you can have a look in your controls in the game and find this: "Toogle Speed Bar"
Give it a command, like i.e. "Alt-E" or anything you like.
After a restart you have metric, U.S. and TAS (True Air Speed) I believe!?
Than you can find this new command in your settings.ini not the confi.ini
You'll find it her: X:\IL-2\Users
X = any disk drive you installed IL-2
IL-2 = any name you gave your folder

Ah, I see!
It's been a while since I played IL-2, please forgive me.
Thank you for all the help!
