Built new machine, HAF 932 case, Gigabyte EX58-DS4 mobo, core i7 920 Cpu, Patriot 12800 (1600Mhz) 3x2Gb (6Gb kit) memory, Corsair 1000 Modular PSU, Samsung 2433BW monitor 1920 x 1200 resolution, 300 Gb Velociraptor x1 (will have OS on), 1Tb Seagate HDD x1, Fan controller (x6 Fans) & ASUS EAH 4870 Video Card, got Vista Home premium OEM x64 bit OS.
Tried to Start, Fans all ran (4x Case, 2x ASUS EAH 4870 with Noctua Cooler, 2x CPU with Noctua Cooler (these 2 straight from mobo)).
Get nothing for 15 seconds, then shrill beeps for a couple of seconds, then goes quiet for 10 secs, then shrill beeps for a couple of seconds again ETC, ETC.
Monitor shows check cable signal.
Pulled out Vid card, seems all OK, 2x PciE power leads in blocks at back, fans both working. Have no idea now, and don't have another pcie card to use as a test, older comp is AGP only, and have noone to borrow one from to test. Might have to buy cheap Pcie vid on saturday.
Any ideas, please?
Sorry I don't have time right now to really think about this one. But I'll see if i can help, Just a suggestion off the top of my head - if you switch the machine on Without the graphics card plugged in do you get the same beep? that constant tone means on my motherboard at least that the graphics card isn't plugged in properly. Failing that in the mobo manual it should have a description of the different POST failure beeps and their meaning.

Just an idea but have you plugged the 12v lead (either 4 or 8 pin depending on PSU / Mobo) into the motherboard? Newer boards need this as well as the ATX power connection.
Yes new mobos dont have a good installation manual with it so check the cd that came with the mobo and see for the real installastion manual there.
Check also your cables from the powerswitch and so on from the front off the computer to the mobo. these are often mixed and if facing one way on the old mobo its always a possebilety that they should face an other way on the new one.
This was the fact on mine when i installed my new mobo 2 weeks ago.
My mobo has led display that indicates faults by numbers and letters. and here also the codes where missing in the manual but was found on the cd.
So go over all installed hardware, check they are firmly in place. then check all connected wires are in place and connected in the right way.
Again the leads from the computers front often get misplaced, check that + led is sett to the + pin and so on.
try reseting the cmos with the jumper, using only one stick of mem. if it works insert the other sticks. to reset cmos, there should be 3 pins with the jumper sitting on 2 of them to either side. place jumper on the pair to the other side it was originally on and leave for 30 secs and replace. this may work because the cmos out of the factory doesn't match the hardware that you are using so it needs to be reset. the manual should also tell you how to reset the cmos
Thanks all for your help, haven't been online for couple of days, and just saw the newer responses, which are much appreciated.
Turned out one of the 3 PciE cords wasn't (a PciE cord at all), and I had used the EPV 12v one where it is only intended for mobos that have 2x 12volt connections for CPUs, also didn't help it's not marked, or mentioned in the manual.
But thanks to you fellas steering me away from videocard problem, onto power problem, it was fixed and up and going once I spotted my mistake with the lead. Now just have to sort Vista x64, and all the other tasks involved with a new computer.
