I presume "bytes per pixel" means the color channels? 3 would then be ordinary RGB and 4 would be RGB+Alpha, right?

The IMF file is a TGA divided in 2 parts : RGB image data differentially coded and alpha channel also differentially coded. Having them separated makes it easy to use alpha channel for shades etc.

If not and for those who wish to remain with "the lesser evils" :? I've swapped all the stuff over to Mediafire and will use that from now on..or at least give it a spin till it falls over or whatever. It seems pretty good thanks for the suggestion
