What did it in my case is:

I opened up the .rc file that came with this mod using notepad and scrolled down to the bottom where it lists all of the .sfs archives

Once there I deleted the following line

@sfs MOUNT fb_3do20p.sfs

After this change everything now works perfectly again and I'm able to enjoy both the new maps as well as the new default skin pack under 4.08!

i got mine to work by taking out 20 and 20b.

the maps loaded but all the 4.09 objects were gone.

It turned out that I had the same problem. So I just patched to 4.09..
