So ... I have another info. This night i found the game on torrents. BUT . There are only online activation with personal key Cry , No such a freedom like in il-2 Copy paste game Cry . So to game even in single mission you must connect every time . No game with out internet .
But it's ok if you buy it ... Smile i think .

Well seeing the characteristics necessary for the computer, I think that either the computers are very cheap in Russia, or do not think a lot of people who can afford a computer with these features

I'd MUCH rather have IL-2 updated with some planes and a better system for the groundwar than have a completely new simulator, that starts off just like IL-2 did; with a very limited selection of aircraft that look great, but with lots of things missing. (don't misunderstand me, I've been on the IL-2 ride since the first demo..)

Maybe I'll check this game in , oh say 6 years or so, when it's fully released and modded, until then I'll quite happily fly IL-2 with the graphics I have with this, because lets face it... It doesn't get much better anyway... a little sparkle and shine here and there isn't enough for me to go nuts, I'm not a teenager anymore (no offence)

Thanks for the information though, knowing that it'll require internet at all times is a major thing that I will never accept, and therefore won't buy this game.

P.s. Torrenting is not allowed to be discussed on this forum as far as I know; what you do in your own time is your business, but if you want game makers to make new games that we'll love, then we'll have to shell out for the product... no profit = no sequel...

Those were my 0.02€ anyway...

Yes... enough of that talk thank you.

Still think the zippers look like poop. Everything else looks great. Just those trenches look to be a huge immersion killer...

Thank you, finally a sentiment with which I quite agree! Honestly, I'm a little bemused by how negative people are being here at the moment...

Don't mean to play the Devil's advocate to the detraction of CK (which is astoundingly ambitious, and pulls it off with style from all I've seen so far) but come on lads, how conservative can a modding community be?! It's a fresh game, it's new, pushing boundaries and stretching hard- and software trying hard to do things which have not been done before...is it me, or is that similar attitude to the one found here?

I know it's not perfect, but as with all things - wait. Who's to say that RoF couldn't be the modern equivalent of Il-2 all those years ago, and couldn't be a more viable base for Il-2-like expansion than SoW ends up being. Yeah the specs are high, yeah internet connection thing is a drag and yeah it's easy to throw toys about with ''I'm never going to buy it'' chat...but wait. In a years' time or even two years' time when technology has had time to catch up with developers' aspirations, only then can we really make a decent judgement on whether to buy it or not. Of course a new game engine isn't gonna be as comfy with an 8-year-old community as an 8 y/o engine, who have got used to it's ways - but in a while we'll be that comfortable and familiar with the RoF and SoW engines too, and is it any reason to, basically, slag progress off?

Sorry if this comes across as overly ranty, but the images posted here (with the exception of those trenches Wink ) demonstrate a truly remarkable step - finally the true next generation of flight sims is on the way...

...am I really the only one here who thinks this is a good thing? Come on guys, smile, have a little faith and look forward to something that could be great!

Why do you need to torrent in the first place?! Are you that poor? If everyone was torrenting games, then there would not be any gaming market. You do not have consious of how hard people work for these games.

Well Screwball, I have been, and still am, very excited to get my hands on RoF. As I've said to the other guys working on CK, even with that done, I will still buy RoF.

I can live with the Internet connectivity rule, I can live with a large load on the hardware. The only thing that I am overly concerned about is if it goes the same way as T34 vrs Tiger, or Steel Fury. Both were hailed and much awaited Russian 'sims'... 6 months after release... they are now officially Abandon-ware.

The only thing I do not like the look of, is the trenches. They simply don't hold up to the rest of what we're seeing.

We're not doing CK to steal their thunder, or even to compete with RoF. That would be just plain idiotic. We're just doing it because we want to expand our favourite sim further, and to an time in history, we all like/enjoy/idolise.
