OK, after testing some sounds for the Russian fighters, I have come accross a very strange file in the presets folder:
weapon.MGunUBs
This preset file contains 3 gun sounds, rather than your standard 2 (internal/external). What i have noticed is that the sounds are set for some russian fighter ShVAK guns...ok, those work normal.
But then we get to the UB guns that are in the SAME presets file, there seems to be a mix-up due to this. the internal sound of the UB gun is ok, but since there are an uneven number of sounds in the preset file, the external sounds of the UB sound just like the ShVAK guns!
I've tried to mix some of these uneven combinations, but no matter what, one of them do not sound right....And its a shame to have your 7mm gun sound just like a 20mm gun from the outside.
Is there a fix for this? Perhaps another file in the presets folder?
For those who do not understand what I mean, try this. Go fly a U-2VS and fire the rear gun. When you are in "cockpit/gunner" view, the guns sound fine, but externally, they will sound just like the ShVAK guns. And this is due to an uneven amount of sound files in the presets file i mentioned above.
