Hi all, i downloaded the full installation of your awesome work and now I would ask you a thing: what's the difference between ( 4.08 ) 4.09b1 standard, ( 4.08 ) 4.09b1 mod and ( 4.08 ) 4.09b1 mod with 6DOF???

Quick answer. 4.08 is first upgrade patch for the original Il21946 4.07.
4.09b is next upgrade beta version for 4.08.
4.09b mod is the 4.09b with your downloaded mods...
4.09b 6DFO is 4.09b version with mod for using IR-track devise allowing you to see up to 6 degree off side your field of view. A nice function and much realistic.
Hope this sort it out for you a little.

Forgot to say those are options that you can turn on and of by running the bat files with corresponding names located in your IL2 1946 game directory before running the game. You can than fly the game the way you find it fit you best.

Uhm wouldn't the better idea be to run "Il2VersionSwitcher.exe" located in your Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder?

Then you'd get to use it this way?


I mean this IS THE WAY the AAA team intended it to be used

Thanks everyone for the wonderful work you are doing! Just to clarify a little. For those who do NOT have or are using Track IR is it possible to still benefit by selecting the 6DOF option? If not, are you saying non-Track IR users should select 4.08 or 4.09 vanilla or MOD only?

moone, 6DOF is an advaced TIR feature. So the short answer here is, You dont need 6DOF enabled.
My switcher does not work. This is probably because the nut behind the keyboard is maladjusted. When I go to the IL2 directory and hit the switcher it says that it has failed to initiate. Can anyone make a sugestion here for me? I am dying to try 6DOF. I have never seen it work. I cant wait for the weekend WoooooHooooo!
