i come from the team-aerobatics side of the house in LOMAC [Lockon Modern Air Combat]... we have a great practice tool we call the "Phantom Server":
the guy who flies lead position creates a track of his routine, and runs that track thru an application that makes a "trace" of the flight, which is then run in the game [can be looped to run indefinitely] where anyone can join the game and fly with the leader (although, of course, the host cant join his own game, the phantom takes his place)
i havent heard of anything like this in IL-2... can it be done in this game?
