Fi-103 V1
#1

Hi to all AAA-Modders
I had seen some times ago a picture, where the V1 rocket was flying by a man.
Now my question, can somebody mod the V1, so we can fly it?

P.S Sorry for my bad English i

Good idea FG schwalbe

( :!: im not a modder but i dont know if its possible to do that.)

but i think you have to make an airplane of the V1. its an object (isnt it?) in fmb or sth like that,
so you have to import the 3D model put in a cockpit and make a new slot. you need also ailerons,
rudder and elevators.( :?: ).
but i think the start is the most dificult thing. i dont know if it starts from the catapult , with wheels,
gets pulled by another plane or transported in the bombbay but you have to programm it and thats the
most difficult part (especially the catapult-start)

but i prefere to see those planes like the lancaster, the whirlwind, halifax, wellington and all the
other great planes that just get developed at first (can i say "developed" im just a 14y old german)

but the imagination to have this plane in il2, to fly a v1 is really nice

Hello,

According to Hanna Reitsch biography ( "From Nazi test pilot to Hitler's bunker", by Dennis Piszkirwicz, Praeger Publishers), the V1 was modified to be piloted by a human as a weapon of last resort: a suicide bomb, similar to the japanese Baka (rocket-propelled kamikaze).
The modified V1 were code-named "Reichenberg", and several versions were built:
-R1: no engine, single-seat, training glider, flaps and landing skids
-RII: two-seat, no engine, glider with instructor and student
-RIII: RI with the pulse-jet engine
-RIV: the real thing, single seat, pulse-jet engine, 1.874 pounds of high explosive in the nose, and no landing skid: once airborne, it would never come back.
Technical considerations aside, is a suicide weapon a fit candidate for a mod?

Not wishing to trample on your valid moral consideration, it is fact that we already have the 'Okha'.

I think this mod would be hard to achieve anyway. The V-1 is in the 'rocket' category, so would be similar to the drivable vehicle modding project iin it's difficulty. Of course, nothing is impossible.

My two cents

Why not? Back when I used to fly on AAA I found it great fun to round a few friends together and all jump in Bettys and Ohkas. Makes a great cruise missile!

The more serious servers generally don't have the term "arcade" in their name. That being said, the Ohka was a very real weapon and was employed operationally. Wouldnt it make sense for truly serious servers flying late war Pacific scenarios to have an Ohka or five available to fly?

personally, I've never gotten whats so bad about ramming, even though I've never done it meself intentionally.

they destroy their own plane just as much as yours, unless they use their rudder or prop, in which case I still don't see how its any less a weapon.

regardless, I think servers could simply state that ohka's and fi-103's are immune to the ramming rule...

most likely not possible... but a modder can make a new plane and name it V-1 and make it so u can set it to take off from V-1 launcher. also can the modders make the natter rocket plane? its shaped like the ohka but has a 24 rocket rocket launcher in the nose. and is launched from a v-1 launching pad.

Reichenberg is no more a killing machine than a P-51 or Spitfire, yet these are candidates not just for modding, but our affections?
