You start rolling on the runway at 100% power and at a certain speed it will auto fire. You have no control over the RATO units.

Hi, maybe i am just too much biased by MSFS and MSCFS Tongue, but if i took the folders containing the JATO/RATO units from, lets say, the F-84G and copy them to another plane, like the PV2; and then i add the JATO/RATO to the payload and/or payload section in weapons_ry of such plane, will that plane be able to use the JATO/RATO system?.
Thanks a lot! ^_^

Then there must be something wrong because I must have taken off with them like twenty times and in none of the takeoffs did the rockets fire.

They aren't super obvious. They don't look like any other rocket, but you can feel the kick. Look far enough behind your plane and you will see greenish-grey smoke.

And if you are in externals you will see them descending with parachutes after firing.

What speed were you at when you put your gears up? It'll get to around 330kmh or so at least with the rocket propulsion. You have to be over around 40kmh with engines lit up on blue flame which is around 80% and they will turn on

That will not work. The weapons_ru is not actually needed for the game to function. All it does is rename loadouts so they look nicer and more professional, the plane_ru also does the same. Also the JATO system is implemented in the class files belonging to that plane so without implementing the PV2 class files with JATO lines etc in short they won't work and you'll either crash your game or everything will just be the same as it was...

I see, is there a way to accomplish that?, i like to mod/create stuff for the sims (i have done a lot of stuff for MSFS and EECH), so far i have that kind of "upgrade" for the full mission editor, but nothing for the planes, and that is what i like the most Big Grin Tongue

lol modding games like MSFS is much simpler than IL2. Either way, if you want to mod you have to find a modder who will take you up as their "accomplice" if you want to call it that.
