[WIP] North Korea 1:1
#1

Hi Everyone,

This is to officially announce a project I've been working on for some time, a 1:1 map of North Korea.

The area spans from Pyongtaek in the south to Chosan in the north, approximately 518 x 620 km. All major airfields and most landing strips will be included. Important historical targets, like the Suiho dam, have been built. There are over 200 towns, villages, airfields, and hills along the MLR.

Suiho Dam:

As you can see, the map is pretty far along. Current progress is:

Terrain / Roads / Rivers - Finished
Bridges - 50%
Objects - 50%
Airfields - 80%

I'm hoping for a beta release in about (say it with me now) two weeks.

There will be a couple of oddities on this map which people might have to get used to. First, the bridges are non-functional. It was that or accept un-releastic sea-level rivers. Vehicles can still traverse rivers, they just won't go over the bridges.

I will also be adding trenchlines along the MLR using a new technique developed by MajaorMagee and I.

A winter version will be available.

If anyone has information, especially photographs, of the following locations circa 1950-53, they would be much appreciated:

Pyongyang Airfield
Antung Airfield
Tak Tun Gao Airfield
Anshan Airfield
Fengsheng Airfield
Mukden (aka Shenyang) Airfield
Fusen Dam

If any of the wonderful texture artists here would be interested, I could greatly use more accurate textures for korean rice paddies, both summer and winter versions.
