Hurribomber?

What would it take to Mod the Russian Modified Hurricane to be able to carry bombs or a couple rockets?
A English/Russian Jabo mod if you will.

Yes, good idea! The standard mark IIc COULD carry bombs, and was mainly used as a ground attack aircraft, if I understand it right.

I understand that the Mk IIB/C could carry 2 250lb or 500lb bombs or 8 60lb rockets but the AAA forbids the alteration of weapon load outs so it can't be done without a new plane and slot.. Sad

But there's nothing to stop new slot aircraft with new loadouts.

I've seen lots of pics of VVS Modified Hurri IIb with rocket rails, especially around Leningrad,.

Canonuk 100% agree there is lots of photographic evidence of Hurricanes MKII B Mod (2 x 20mm) in Soviet service with ordinance. Seems they were used as such on a regular basis. If someone can do the BF-109F Jabo's no reason we should not have Hurricane Jabos too. Besides, several of your great Hurricane MKIIb Mod skins on your site need to have bombs or rockets.

What you're talking about is the Hurricane Mk IV if I'm not mistaken...

Modifying existing aircraft is not an option and won't be discussed at all.

New weapon loadouts/weapons for new slot aircraft only.

Love the idea though

Thanks!

No, not the Hurri MkIV. The Hurri IIbs that were sent to Russia were heavily modified by the VVS. They had guns changed, and were frequently provided with rocket and bombs. This wouldn't be a case of modifiying existing aircraft; as depalmer says, a 'Jabo' new slot would be fine.
