Did anyone get a Green Screen/Chroma Key map working?
#1

I can find the links to a few threads where work was underway, but not a link to a 'fully operational' map that could be loaded in the QMB or FMB?

I'm wondering if one was ever completed or if there is a link that I am missing, as I'd like to start experimenting with a Chroma/Green Screen map.

Any links much appreciated, with a 'Dummies Guide' instructions (if not loadable in QMB/FMB) as to how to actually get them to work in the game.

Thanks for any help or advice, cheers, MP.

videomaker.com has a learning section where Green Screen is covered pretty well.

Also, there are a bunch of tutors on youtube

Search GreenScreen Chromakey Vegas

Vegas is what I use for my editing my videos.

(of real people and real world stuff)

I've got backdrops, foldout green screens, etc. to work with video.

I know this isn't much help, but it was basically just to let you know there is all kinds of information out there in internet land.

Mess around with the google and you'll eventually find what you need.

MP, I have that map file somewhere on a backup disc. If you don't come right in a day or so, I'll see if I can dig it out for you.

There used to be a chroma key map available for download here, but it seems it has disappeared.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

As far as Green Screen work goes, I am fully up to speed on the technique, sorry I didn't make that clear, the Dummies Guide was more about how to actually get it working in the game!

Bigboss, looking forward to seeing what it looks like, Thrud, I may need your help, but hopefully bigboss has it nailed Wink

Waffen....one day in the next year you'll see Wink

Okay, followed these intructions:

1) Install any map packs (The link is inoperative) or (The link is inoperative)

2) get chroma map here.

3)Unpack files from archive to game root folder.

4) find game-root\Mods\MAPMODS\maps\Empty1A folder
there are few ini files
load.blue - for blue screen
load.green for green screen
load.ini - original load.ini(from Default Map Upgrade pack)

5) Load FMB, create your misson. Note, what map for screening is "bowl-like" vally, so no airfilds avalible. You have not get higher than 10k ft(3000m), or whilte horizon line will appear. You should create your path carefully, because of size of the bowl is small.

6)Play your mission, record it (i prefer and tested .ntrk only)

7)Owerwrite load.ini with load.blue to enable blue texturing(use load.green for green screen)
Overwrite textures in mods\Mapmods\3do\airfield\ground\ with mods\Mapmods\3do\airfield\blue_ground\ to make airstrips same color as landscape.
DON'T FORGET BACKUP your own mods\Mapmods\3do\airfield\ground folder if necessary.
8)use following parameters for your conf.ini (there are my conf.chroma for reference)
DON'T FORGET BACKUP your own conf.ini

At stage 5, I cannot get the map top load. It's listed in the fmb, but when I choose it I get this message:

section [MAP2D] not found in 'maps/Empty1a/grload.ini

any ideas?

Cheers, MP.

MP, i remember having the same issue when i first loaded it. the readme does have a slightly confusing 'edge' to it... 8)
I think the problem is in the naming. Remember, the line in the ini is Caps-Sensitive.
Assuming your folders are in the right place, check that the line in the all.ini file reads as follows:
Empty1A Empty1A/load.ini ----it must be Empty1A, and not Empty1a
Also, in the Empty1A map folder itself, if you want to use the Green screen, backup the load.ini file, and rename the load.green file to load.ini.
You should be good to go. If still stuck, let me know
