Hello,
I'm hoping someone here can help me do something seemingly simple: I want to turn off the dynamic lighting effects on explosions.
I know I can turn off "dynamicallight" in conf.ini, but that only prevents dynamic lights from illuminating planes, vehicles, and buildings... which leaves trees, smoke effects and the land itself still being lit up by the explosions. I can lower the "landshading" setting in conf.ini but then I lose out on building shadows, cloud shadows, effect shadows, and even basic lighting from the sun (at the zero setting) and even then the light from the explosions will still illuminate smoke particles and remove smoke shadows.
So I'm trying to make a mod that turns off the light itself, but I can't find a file that controls the light source. I can edit landlight.mat and/or landlight.tga to remove the light effect on the land itself, and after enough fiddling around in the .eff and/or .mat files for the smoke I could probably stop them from lighting up... but these are ugly and partial solutions. I'd prefer to find the light itself and just switch it off. So, does anyone here know which file(s) contain the colours/durations/etc of the dynamic lights in the game?
Hopefully,
OLC
