I'm useing the latest version of the English Sound Mod. The sounds are great, except the R2800 seems to have the stock sounds. I was wondering if there was a seperate sound mod just for the R2800 that I could simply install either manualy or via the MODS folder. Thanks.
Paulo Hirth did a pretty good R2800 mod for the P-47. you may want to try that one.

These are available, and I downloaded a few. But they are not true to the sounds these monsters put out. Close but not quite. I used to work on them and I am probably being hyper critical. One thing is for sure, it sounds different in different aircraft, because of the baffling and exhaust layout in the design. The supercharger and accessories also lend a certain kind of "flavoring" as well as prop type. ie # of blades. The guys who did the sound mods did a nice job for what is available as a recording. They need to be clean and muti miked to really capture that engine in its application. If any one else out there has worked on them I am sure they would agree. There are a few P&W R2800's starting up on youtube give em a listen if you have not already. Of course in-flight sounds is another story, one must rely on the artistry found in this forum, which is awesome.
I wish I could "point" you to the DL, maybe someone will see the post and point it out for you.

Tried the link provided in the thread but no go. Says something about the file only being able to be accessed by the file owner. :???:
