Anyone found that this plane will only take a 512x512 skin?

I did make a start on a template @1024 but the first pick for a test skin wouldn't show up till I reduced it to 512

Ive just had a look at this and it is indeed only accepting 512 X 512, also messed about with the file compression ie bright and indexed etc..no joy seems you will either draw as 512 only or as a 1024 then reduce finally to 512..the void file size is only 256 kb not 1.0 mb as usual default skins are!

i have made a pe8 skin a long time ago as a itie plane lol may be i might b able to offer some assistance if u wood like

same experience here, the only plane I found which is unable to handle the hires skins
