Now I have followed the instructions to the letter and still I am baffled, I install the mod into a seperate IL2 folder as to not corrupt my original, I attempt to load up the game and either 1 of 2 things happens

1. The splash screen appears sits at 5% and crashes a short time later

or

2. Loads up, Menus are all in Russian then proceeds to crash after nearly 20 seconds

I could really use the help as I dont really know what I'm doing wrong or anything of the sort, in fact the only thing that I believe is different than most is that I did a download purchase of 1946 not a retail copy

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Slipry: "The issue with the dgen cyrillic text is because the il2fb.exe is russian, so it is reading the files with an (....._ru), eg. americans_ru.dat. To change it to english copy the americans.dat, change it to americans_ru.dat and copy it back in overwriting the original file. Bingo,, all english. Another one to change, eg. messageEN.dat, copy, change to messageRU.dat, copy back in. " These are in the Dgen folder

files.SFS, filelist, and il2fb.exe (make a new desktop shortcut) go in your main game folder.
Create a new folder called files and put it in your main game folder. This where everything else goes.
