Hi just to let you know , before i get on with the PBY im finishing a personal fav of mine ... yes the BLENHEIM Wink not the hotest plane around but still a nice bird & fun to fly - shes a fast bird & highly manouverable, so i hope you find a place in your heart for her when she arrives here at the forum later with a pe2 cockpit & bombsight + maybe il10 turret Smile

so far its been very aukward to fit a turret so it may not at first be a great turret - may have to work further on it later date

It will be great to fly this bird at last. But maybe the Mosquito cockpit would be more authentic? British instruments and no rear gunner behind the pilot. If you could add a vertical canopy frame in the middle of the main windshield, it would be even better.

IMO the PE2 has more the look and feel of a Blenheim, maybe in time a way will be found to change the instruments (see cockpit skinning thread - and thats just for starters)

we have a winnah! 8) on both accounts

imagine a pe2 pit with british instuments, gun reticle from a20, and a beaufighter control column

ok, maybe a bit "frankenstein"....but we will see whats happen over next few weeks/months

If you can start dissecting cockpits and swapping components around then the possibilities expand a bit more - I hope it comes about.

Jolly's remark about the Blenheim turret set me thinking about its stablemate, the Beaufighter. We don't have the most common versions in the game - the Mk VI (the first Beau used in Burma and the Pacific) and the torpedo carrying TFX. Both had a single Vickers or Browning in the observer position - could this be added? It wouldn't show in external, but maybe that could also be done at some point?
