Mod friendly server list.

Quote:To conclude my thoughts, I know you can get a way with many things, however WE* TRUST you not to use mods on our server, that's all, it's up to your understanding of moral values to act in a way you find appropriate.

Well said.

I think it's important to only use mods where they are specifically welcomed, not just anywhere you can "get away with it". As you say it's a matter of trust and honour.

Brain32 Wrote:-first there may be bans issued that will happen just by misunderstanding, you read here it's mod friendly and then WHAM - perma banned

-second it will also attract people who are not into harmless modding only

argee with all, +1

as for the quoted stuff;

there may indeed be this happening, particularly with new players...(good thing there arent MANY new players joining for some time, in a way)

certainly, the respective sqds/servers shoudl have been asked if they indeed are mod friendly (and a sqd rep to state that is best natch), otherwise perhaps the listign shoudl have been for "non CRT=2 servers"

if anything, IMO, it will be the servers that most disagree with modding that will be tgts for douchebag hackers, and a challenge to "break into"
in any event, again IMO, self policing will keep things reasonable, and relatively free from widespread nonsense
registering/password servers will be the way to go if not..perhaps even if so!

a shame, really, but i think that is what will change the game, not kill it

very interesting discussion, but back to topic.
I have found just one more server with mods:
il2.degunino.net:21000, aka "Foreman". Russian language briefings - but... locked pits and no outside views and well balanced almost historical planesets and ground targets - enjoy.

JG2 Australia is mod friendly.
-locked pits
-no externals
-no map icons, except for your aircraft only
-visual icons at less than 500 meters.

I think Brain32 is right to complain about being "stamped" as MOD-Friendly. He is obviously not.

The rest is semantics: This is not a "MOD-friendly" thread but, a "No CRT=2" thread.

What worries me through (or may be it is my ignorance) is that Brain combines the Sound-Mod with Bf109s flying at Mach1 speed.
Therefore I need to raise the questions:
- Does the Sound-Mod change the flight models?
- Is there a Sound-Mod++ version that does change the flight models?
- Is this "Sound-Mod++" version available in this forum?

Because I do not like being "stamped" as cheater for using a sound mod because of others using a different modification of the game that is not sound-mod related.

@crazy, first of WELCOME m8! Big Grin

No this sound mod offered here does not do anything to the FM or DM's. There maybe one somewere out there that does it. I have not seen any of the things yet that people are saying is happening.

Feel free to try it, you just might like it!

I would also ask that warclouds is removed from this list,as they obviously DO NOT want to be seen as a mod friendly server. Why go somewhere you are not wanted?

May I make a suggestion. Don't put a list out, until the people that run this site go and talk to the main servers XOs first and talk to them. Then let them put the list out. I know my squad did not take kindly to Hippy telling people on Hyperlobby that the 334th was squad was friendly to Mods or posting in our forums links to this site or Mods. Be respectfull to those that run these servers and get their input.

Perhaps the best way to handle this issue is for the moderators here to delete or lock this thread and then reopen another one and let the admins from all the servers mod friendly and not mod friendly come in here and post themselves . Send out an open invitation to any and all to come here and post in these threads but server admins or squadron COs only.

Look folks.. the only reason why I am still here is that this sim means a lot to me... as for the two sides on the mod sides, well it is painfully obvious to me and to anyone with a brain that both sides are deeply entrenched in their views and any kind of agreement will be a while in coming.. If anything hopefully we will be able to come to a truce of some kind and some kind of Neutral Zone... and I think a list of servers for & against mods is a step and then it will be up to us to honor those servers... in other words if you have mods then use your unmodded version on a modfree server and if you are mod free then don't complain about coming on mod friendly servers if you see some oddness, which you may not see but if you do then dont complain. That is my take on the subject. In fact I will initiate the process at UBI. As long as we stay stuck on stupid we wont get anywhere. So lets get off stupid.. all of us...

I am only going to post in this thread once.

WarClouds does not allow any MODs of any sort to be used while playing on our server. If you are found using MODs of any sort on our server, you will be banned. We do not take banning lightly. And if we ban you it's because we have very good reason to believe that a person is using MODs. We are not the courts of justice in this case. When we get evidence against a player showing that he is using MODs, then we will ban that player and it is up to that player to provide evidence he is not using MODs.

So please do us all a favor and use your MODs on servers with an admin team that allows them. Please do not be inconsiderate to other players and use these MODs where they are not welcome. I am not here to say if these MODs are right or wrong, but I am here to tell you we do not allow them on our server. PERIOD.

We have a large group of regular players on our server. We entrust each player to be honest and trustworthy. If you are not, you are not welcome on our servers.

Out of intrest how come you dont allow mods?

I cant see how a change in sounds will give you a ban. Bit silly if you ask me.

But none the less, its your server and your rules.

jez, before getting in and choosing the plane you should inform everyone by chat you use a mod, to let the admins be able to kick you out from the server Smile
