What frame rates you guys getting?

So far from reports from the testers, FPS isnt affected. It may drop down a bit depending on detail from surrounding areas you are flying over, but so far the size of the map does not affect playability, if that is what you are wondering.

FSM, check your email. I tried your mission and had no problem starting on the tarmac as the player. What doesn't work is to have the various flights take off parallel from the main and side strip (the little taxi-way like strip on the north edge of the main runway, not Fighter 1) at Henderson, going in the same direction. I assume that the way the runways/spawn points were set up, you can only take off on the different strips from opposite directions. That right. Skunk?

Trying dogfightis and bombing runs I don't get any FPs drop at the moment. Beta testing continuing

When I play-tested the runway spawns at Henderson, in a Coop, I had to offset the take-off points from the runway surfaces by about 100 yds.

With a little experimentation I was able to get two separate flights to spawn on the separate runways, going in the same direction.

The whole issue of proper elevation is currently under discussion by the development team.

As for the appearance of the airfields at Lunga, anyone who is familiar with the history of Guadalcanal knows the airfield changed tremendously over the period of the Solomons Campaign. If you look back through previous posts in this thread, you will see that Skunk and I discussed this, and he stated that releasing versions for different time-frames during the campaign is a possibility.

Well, after having read the replies I cunningly figured out what my problem was - my brother-in-law and his son came around yesterday and were playing the game - on easy settings. No take-offs!
Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrgghhh. I must have spent 2 hours trying to work outwhat was going on.
The map and my installation are clearly fine. What a pain in the arse.

Balattin, nice job on Henderson Field.

Looking forward to the new BETA version. In the meantime this map has started to kindle an interest in some Pacific action. I might make a few missions that could be included with the download if you like, Skunk. I'll have to do a bit of fact-checking first though. Anyone got any missions they'd like to see? Mainly I think I'll stick to short distance non-historical (but plausible) ones.

Avala's post reminded me that I forgot to add that frps are no different than on any other map. Still haven't got huge numbers of planes and objects in one spot yet but it shouldn't be a problem, despite the huge area it encompasses (wow, there's a word I hardly ever use. Not bad for a Sunday evening.). So far Ive put together about 34 planes in one mission with no problems.
