Greeting,
I am a newbi to this forum but have been playing IL2 for about a year. I just recently discovered this site and my enthusiasm was high. I really welcomed the thought of some real mods for IL2, especially new maps, etc.

My frustration is: I tried all of yesterday, everything (including a complete reinstallation) and no luck. So, could you give me a run down on exactly the IL2 files and utilities I need?

I tried;
1. IL2_MOD_Activator_v4_IL2_4_08.exe (it crashed to desktop)
2. IL2_ENG_Sound_mod_Version_09.exe (it crashed to desktop)
3 IL2_409_MOD_b1m.exe and added IL2_Mod_Switcher_4_08m_to_4_09bm.exe (same results)


I have IL2 1946. My system is a 6750 2.6 Ghz Intel duel core w/ 4g 800mhz ram.Graphics is a Geforce 7200.

is your Il2 1946 game download version or you have DVD ?

is your sound set on 44100 (sampling rate) in game setting ?

eh.... bad news ... download version doesn't work with mods ( different FB.exe ) .... get yourself DVD version and you'll be fine ....

i'm not sure , there are few threads regarding that issue... but without solution ( if my memory serves me well)

i believe Starforce is the only thing you have to be concerned about ....

Starforce is a dirty word, no, ther is not starforce but securom. The securom is taken care of with the mods though as they use the no-cd .exe.

Thanks Guys for you replies, but I am curious. What files do I need to change my DL version to a DVD version?

I have the 409b1m I'm running now. But, I'm willing to experiment just for the satisfaction of knowing. I would like to start with the following six files from a DVD 4.08 1946 version:

1.pathfind.dll
2.msvcp71.dll
3.msvcr71.dll
4.jgl.dll
5.il2_usgs.dll
6.il2_usgs2.dll

(I all ready have the IL2fb.exe and the files.SFS from the
IL2_409_MOD_b1m.exe.)

If this has been tried already let me know

I have the DVD version 4.07m & try install some Mods but all crash to desktop

this may help when you get the DVD version: viewtopic.php?t=6632 it is a beginners mod guide that tells what mods to download in what order so you can fly mods. hope it helps!
