Add new countries?

Gaston Wrote:Mmmmh... why have 2 Italia under blue side ??? seems quite strange to me...
sounds like adding files in the software, making it heavier without really changing nothing... except increasing of making it slower !!!

Actually, we have 42 countries. It is quite a lot, if we thing that at the beginning, there were only 24 or 28...

Metatron... I still think the same about making all nations red and blue... this sim is a WW2 sim, not a cold war one... also, making what you ask will probably make it quite heavy...

So correct me here, if I am wrong, but you are including all countries on BOTH sides?

This would be a very good thing - for a whole heap of scenarios...

We are including those countries on bot sides, which fought on botrh sides (France, Finland, italy, Romania, to name a few). We do NOT include e.g. the RAF on Axis side, and this was never planned either.

Well, could you at least put the VVS on the Blue side also, this would help a hell of a lot with Korean scenarios...

Not to mention, White and Red russian scenarios...

Also for the period when Russki were allied with Hitler - invasion of Poland, annexation of Bessarabia... Stalin was "blue" all the way until Hitler invaded in June 1941.

As we are talking about Russians that fought on the blue side: Not only before 1941 there were russian units fighting against the Allies. There was the so called "Russian Liberation Army" (Russkaya Osvobodityelnaya Armiya - ROA) fighting on German side until 1945. They had an own air force, flying even Me 262 (!).

Their marking looked like this:

Bf 109 with ROA markings:

Mmmmmh... I think the creators of the game will not like this !!!

But I will take Bulgaria and ROA in consideration (the list is now quite long...).

But as long as we do not have the correct planes (I mean a real MiG-15, a real F-86, etc..., not faked ones), I will not put the VVS (or why not the western Allies ??? after all, we find some blue colour on most Western insignas !!!) on the blue side...

Also, I will not enter in consideration about Russian Revolution or Chinese Revolution :

-for Russian Revolution, we would need WW1 planes, not WW2...
-for China, we would need some maps of China and older planes than the ones in the game.

Also, there will be a point at which we will have to stop to add new countries... it is not possible to make everybody happy !!! If I include the 2 mentioned in this post, we will be at more than 40 countries. Not bad, no ???

...but it's the truth.

Re: China - there are IMHO already plenty of planes that were used in that theater - though more could be added - the Curtiss Hawk III biplane for example, or the I-15, and on the Japanese side the Ki-10. And we have some maps.

Right, the ROA sounds interesting, and all, but...there are two problems: a) Gaston and Mates have to find out how to make markings appear, and b) I myself need to find out the official names of all the forces!

Name for Manchukuo : Dai Manshū Teikoku Kūgun

and it is now included !!!

Gaston, are these latest updates available for download? It might be a great help for you if more of us could beta-test it - many eyes see more than just two, y'know

Not yet : I am still waiting something...

Once I have it, I will stop (temporarily) this mod, until a solution is found about the national insignias and numberings is solved.

Just for your information, guys : now, I have 46 countries...

Maybe you already know this link, but if not, you should have a look on it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_air_forces

I do not know if it's all well-researched on this wikipedia-page, but at least it is a rough guide to many air forces that existed up to now, including their original names.

Best regards!
