99th_Papy_Toa, 99th_RockStar 99th_Patches and myself were talking the other night about a mod that will incorporate a log parser into the sim. Papy was toying with the idea and then I suggested that we bring it here since the resources are greater than just one man. He is currently working on it...
What do you guys think of this?
So basically a log parser and stats recorder.... But with a twist.
1-It would be capable of being set in several different modes.
A-Team mode. A total tally of all the points for individual teams based on the side, color or something along those lines. This would actually go a long long way towards fostering more teamplay in Dogfight servers, eliminating the individual scores and making then team scores.
B-Individual mode. Basically what we have now.
C-Full Stats mode. A mode where all the stats for each pilot that are saved in the logfile were displayed at the end of the mission, and also on the fly... like a way to print up the user stats page in the console... or at least save it.. if say for instance you are in a DF server and you want to leave.. but you want to save the stats before you go.
D-No stats at all posted at the end of the mission..
It would have to be something that would work in Coops and in DF servers, and something that could be printed out if say it was saved as a notepad file.. sort of like we save tracks... but this would be information.
It would be nice if it had a time & date stamp and perhaps even waypoints etc...
It would also have to be something that , even though each individual could set up the parser however they saw fit... to be viewed after the fact , the server host's setup would be the only one displayed in the mission debrief screen.
I realize this is a tall order.... I mentioned it to Zo and he said that if anyone could do it it would be you so I am mentioning the idea to you before I post it in the general mod discussion room to put the bug in your ear.
So what do you think? Is it doable or am I just wishing... Somehow from what I have see coming from here.. it is definitely doable. The information is already there... it would be just a matter of getting it in the formats mentioned above.
