Hawk 81A-2 ring sight MOd.

I hope this mod will be of interest to Mission Builders and those who enjoy using historically accurate equipment even if it is substandard.

This mod will apply a working ring and bead sight to the Hawk 81 A-2, The main line fighter for AVG squadrons (Flying Tigers) in China.

While reflector sights were applied when they could be obtained, the ring and bead sight was the standard issue.

Thi's will be fine to hava this also for Dutch Brewster B339 C & D poor guys they never had reflector gunsight ( lack of equipment at brewster factory)

I've just Try it.. it"s nice work... and its not more difficult to aim with this bead..

The dream will be tu have this sight in backup.. ONce your reflector was killed by gunfire. switch to the ring.bed sight..

I have thought about this some. Maybe it would be possible to use the same mechanism that changes to tail gunner view in bombers to switch view to off center iron sights.

would be cool to have this as random when you choose the plane, as you said the refection sight was in some planes so if you get your sight random will be very imersive.

Hmmm, seems like the planes actually had the Ring and Bead sight but mantained the "square thingy" in the cockpit.

Japan planes do have it ... is always on the left side ... I never knew how to use it. One time i saw it working when my revi sight was destroyed.

I wish it could have the same key command like "ctr-d" for the tinted dimmer or whatever is called ...

But here on the hawk 81 seems to be fixed on the fuselage and not switcheable

In Japanese Zero The backup sight is automatic. When the Reflector sight is damaged or destroyed
it switches automaticly to the Iron sight.
