Think ever " The suchmodders is an idiot and i help you to install my mod "
Th!rdeye Wrote:No idea.
Davew Wrote:I would guess that he's asking people to think of those installing the mods on their games.
Some of the modders seem to work on the basis that they know what they're doing so everyone should.
But some of the installation processes for the mods can be a little hard to follow.
Most are great, but there are some that could perhaps be a little more user friendly.

Davew Wrote:I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to computers, but the whole installing maps thing, and some of the conflicts between mods have caught me out at times.
For example, when i first got on here, everyone was talking about looking in the files folder for the maps folder and modifying that.
I didn't have a maps folder in there!
So I pm'ed someone... cant immediately remember who (apologies for that whoever you were, it was very helpful) and asked about the situation and he told me that that was an outdated thread from before the wrapper, and that the file to be modified was now in the Mods folder.
Another example was trying to get the maps to work in the QMB. So I was searching things like Mod maps in QMB, or adding maps to QMB, and all the thread would talk about how they had the maps in the QMB, or how to add it, but none of them said that you had to have QMB+ installed as a prerequisite.
So I can identify with him a little... Some of the information if you wander around trying to find out for yourself can be a little difficult to follow, or is now outdated. But if you dont know what yuo're looking for, how can you tell the difference?
Perhaps the solution (if anyone wanted to do it) would be to put a 'dictionary' of the most commonly used files, their locations, how mods are installed, known conflicts and how they could be resolved etc....
Or even just a FAQ sticky for general Mod installation queries or requests for help with links to threads?
