AFAIK.... no mod changes these things.

No FM or such thing is touched.

it must have been you indeed or the realistic landings option not activated?

others may know more though.

You said you were at 150 knots at 1 nm out, but really the important piece of data is how fast you were going at touchdown. If you had managed to slow down to say less than 100 knots indicated by the time you reached the carrier, with the ship going 20 knots plus a 20 knot headwind, you should be able to touch down pretty softly.

And just to confirm something, when you set the wind speed in the mission file, the value is in meters per second (MPS). One MPS is roughly equal to half a knot. So to get a wind speed of 20 knots you would need to set the parameter as 'WindVelocity 10'. If you happened to set it to 20, you would actually be flying into approx a 40 knot wind. Just something to double-check.

Thanks for the prompt replies as always.

Vampire_pilot: Yes, realistic landings are set as always.

Fireball: Several things I forgot to mention:

I was flying the Corsair 1A;
TD speed was at 140 knots indicated - this would give a wheel-speed of 100 knots on the deck;
Climb/dive indicator showed 1000+ feet per minute dive;

Now, I seem to recall somewhere that the oleos in the game had been fixed on the Corsair - true or false?

Oh, and one more thing - my buddy noticed the same thing when he landed for the first time on a carrier after all the mods were put in.

Thanks again.

Great days all.
