Axis WWII historical aircrafts
#1

Finally! I am creating the last thread that will provide many materials such as references, background information, data, and blueprint for each of add-on aircrafts for axis. I will be adding Allied WWII historical aircraft after this. Unless this forum have "research' section where AAA would devote their time to find many information/blueprint demanded by modders of AAA, I am adding this thread that would provide that purpose temporary.

I need each of you whom want to see any specific Axis historical aircraft in il-2 1946 post these three following information before I can add and updae the informatio in the list:

1) Name of aircraft
2) Link to references/background/data
3) link to blueprint (VERY IMPORTANT! AAA modders really need this, because without blueprint, the modder diffcult time trying to model an accurate model without model references.)
4) links aircraft photos (more the merrier)

And one more thing, if one of AAA modder are dong project on one of aircraft in the list, I will label these specific aircrafts in list as "WIP", in order, to keep community up to date on which aircraft are being worked on.

I think this is a super idea and should be a thread on the front page of AAA with a list of all mods by category both Complete (usable - for some people things are never complete-especially the designers!) and WIP with approximate progress
ie Reasearch, graphic modelling, FM, damage and weapong modelling, online/offline testing, Beta release etc., also who is working on each mod - this will allow direct questions, or suggestins that need not clutter the threads.

I also think this particular area should be neither threads, nor forum, just a list, with a link to any appropriate forums in the header.

Some categories :

1. New Slot original aircraft

2. New piggyback slot aircraft (created over an existing FM)

3. Sound Mods

4. New Vehicle, Armour, Artillery, Ships, Radar Towers, Building Mods (objects with in game functions)

5. Weather and Weapon Effects, Visual Graphics and animation

6. Cockpits and Instruments

7. New Game Function Mods ie Surfacing/Diving Subs, Radar Systems, Functioning Ship Torpedos,
FMB additions/applications, AI behavioural mods etc.

These are just a few ideas, the point is to streamline the site so that slowpokes like me don't get loast and have to read the same 80 posts to answer their questions, and annoy the guys by asking the question for the 9th time.

Okay, I'll give it a try and see if I get your criteria right............

Arado Ar 234 C3

'Arado 234 Blitz, Monogram Monarch -1, by J. Richard Smith & Eddie J. Creek'

'Ar 234 C, fuselage, wing and tail rib locations'. Page 88 of above.
'5 view blueprint and color plate. Page 90 and 91 of above.

'Photographs', pages 92 to 100 of above.

I know this is a hard copy reference, I'll work on adding 'net' links as I find them!

First 'links' I could find, has several other 234's referenced! http://www.vectorsite.net/avar234.html

and http://tanks45.tripod.com/Jets45/Histor ... /Ar234.htm

and http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/b/444/2/2/23

General description, a four engine version (mounted in pairs, close proximity, not spaced apart), with the 'upright pilot' position and a 'bubble' nose cockpit to accommodate him.

"...... but there is little doubt that it was the fastest production turbojet-driven aircraft of the Second World War."

I'll be adding more Ar 234 variants from this book as it is a favorite of mine. And who knows, maybe one of them might inspire someone to make one of them?

Was somewhat disappointed with IL2 1946 decause it didn't have the FW-190D-13 anywhere.
But since the werknummer indicates only 17 D-13's were built, that would explain why there aren't D-13's in IL2.
FW 190 D-13 Built in 1945 Fighter
FW 190 D-13/R5 Fighter-bomber
FW 190 D-13/R11 Dirty weather fighter
FW 190 D-13/R21 MW 50 injection
FW 190 D-13/R25 Jumo 213EB
(R21 was listed elsewhere as "Revised MW50", whatever that means?)

I don't have any info on the perormance of the Jumo213EB engine, which would help the modders immensely.
D-12 was supposedly similar but with 30mm engine mounted cannon.
Probably best to have it as a weapon option instead.

A book by Aero Details indicates that two D-15's were built, D-15 being an A-8 converted to D-15 by grafting a TA152C nose and tail onto the frame.
Unfortunately for me, the info is only in book form and I am having some trouble finding the book.
(This one probably should go over in experimental Axis planes anyway until more info is dug up.)

Above is a sideview color lineart of a D-15.
Note outboard wing guns/cannon from 190A-8.
