Hi everybody, when I was young  and flying Il2 there was a campaign about the Flying Tigers by Obelix; in the first mission you had to fly a gunnery training. It started with you in the cockpit of a P-40 waiting for a jeep which you had to follow to the runway. I liked this taxiing part very much but unfortunately this feature disapeared with an update and now you have to be at least a mile away from the take off point or you're placed there automatic.
Now, having seen the beautiful things possible due to the great works of you modders here, I wonder if this could be cured with some mod??
Thanks
Wow.... is it possible that someone might make a map with off-runway spawn points? If so, I'm sure that map would be very popular indeed. I've been trying to noodle this out for some time, unfortunately I am limited in skill and even more in time.
Thanks for any info

Thanks Zo- will do that 8)
It is possible, as say in early days when carrier mod was just a what if thread, as AI can taxi after landing, this can be done in reverse that AI taxi before take off in the carrier mode was done.
i don't remember who was it the one that did the carrier mod, i'm sure he can do this.

Yes, I'm all in favour of off-runway spawn points, although I should point the single linear runway isn't always realistic for the period, since most smaller planes operated from grass fields en masse without any specified runway, something that the realism of IL2 falls down on. Still, I notice some map-makers are adressing this issue. Extra spawn points at places where aircraft would be operationally parked would be brilliant.
