Very Quiet Engines
#16

I've come across an interesting phenomenon. Following the advice given above I've reinstalled AC Installer in all its versions and what happens is that eah gives me a different subset of engine sounds within the cockpit. Sadly it doesn't seem to cover the entire range so 'pre-installing' the software prior to play doesn't allow you to choose which cockpit sounds you have before play Sad

Jaws2002 Wrote:I think i read in a readme file not to install the new sound files that came with the 4.09. Did you try replacing them with the old ones?

This are the files i'm talking about and they are not in the mods folder but in the Il-2 root folder:
mg_snd.dll
mg_snd_sse.dll

I don't use any of 4.09 dll-s (just pure 4.08m with some texture files from 4.09b)...

Removing jumo 211 & 213 sounds and their presets didn't change anything. But Bf-110G-4 and all Me-410s sound absolutely nice both before deletion and after... :o

Any other ideas?

Mangas.

It worked !!!

I have copy these 2 files ( mg_snd.dll, mg_snd_sse.dll ) from the AAA UI into the 1946 folder, overwrite the 4.09 dll with them an now I got all sounds back !!!

Thanks for the Solution !!!

Hi,

Just a note that might help, i had issues with the sounds, a while ago, internally & externally & wasn't very happy. I solved it by spending 10 min playing with the sound card settings! Play around with your sound card settings & see if it helps.
